Company News

Prairie Fire Wind is a very small business in Raymore, Missouri, USA.  However, because we are on the internet we are everywhere.  The company's specialty is data driven web applications, harnessing the combined power of databases, programming and website designs.  We do websites - but a whole lot more.  Tom Engel, P.E., is the president, founder, web developer, chief of sales and the janitor.  Tom's extensive engineering experience, combined with his expertise in software design, allows him a unique niche in both the engineering and code communities.  As an A+ certified technician, he understands the hardware better than most coders.  As an engineer, he understands code better than most engineers.  And as a coder, he understands...You get the idea.  And, as a home-based business, the rates are ridiculously cheap - this is the Midwest, where the cost of living is relatively low.  But because this is the internet, clients can be anywhere.

The name PrairieFireWind combines three disparate and powerful elements into one concept. Like that, data driven web applications combine programming, databases and websites into incredibly powerful tools that can be used for business analysis, engineering design, forensics, or anything you wish. In fact, far more than you can wish or imagine. We are just now beginning to fathom that we cannot fathom what we have begun to do.

I believe that firms that do not appropriate the technology are going to discover that they are like armies attempting to fight with rocks against people armed with nuclear weapons. And today's nuclear weapon is tomorrow's rock - so fast are the changes happening. Small firms can be as present on the web as giant firms, and on-line ordering allows shoppers internationally to buy from a small store in a small town. The web has effectively annihilated not only barriers to knowledge but to trade as well. A company can keep its books online, seamlessly with its database, and allow its accountants access at all times.

What I am talking about is not the future. This is the past. What is happening today is beyond this, and the firms that will succeed are those who have a grasp on the technology. Is your firm destined to go the way of the buggywhip manufacturers? The future is not waiting. Neither is the present. Are you in the past?

Custom engineering and business data-driven web applications, including website design.

That's what we do.
